Skills Cover Letter

(This is for a mining job (equipment operator) that will help finance schooling, family life, and general expenses for my wife and me)

To whom it may concern in Barrick Bald Mountain Mine HR:
My name is Skyeler Lucero and I am seeking an employment opportunity with Barrick. I believe I would be a good employee not only because I have never been fired or asked to resign from a job, and I have always had a good rapport with employers and fellow employees, and I have always given at least two weeks of notice before quitting a job, but because I have acquired skills over the years from various jobs that could mold me into a dependable asset for Barrick.
From three jobs I’ve held I have had to learn the importance of workplace safety in matters of flying or falling debris, semi-heavy equipment and machinery, loud noises, and air quality. So the use of dust masks, hard hats, ear plugs, gloves etc have all become second nature for me. My attitude about safety is one of soberness and seriousness.
In my current job I am becoming accustomed to a twelve hour rotating shift and a four on-four off schedule which is very similar to Barrick’s. My mind and body are quickly adjusting to such demands.
I have also operated forklifts and large van-body trucks which experience has given me the skills to not only move them around but perform tasks with care and precision.
I learn quickly and am always willing to train in new things.

Thank you for your time,
Skyeler
